August 2006 - Virtual Katy at IBC Virtual Katy will exhibit their VK audio post assistant solutions at the IBC 2006 exhibition held in Amsterdam from September 8 through 12. Attendees to the IBC convention can see the company's next major audio post assistant release, VK 2.2, on stand 7.831. In addition to unveiling VK 2.2, Virtual Katy founder and audio post thought leader, John McKay, will present a paper on audio post workflows at the IBC conference on Sunday September 10 at 16.00hrs (www.ibc.org).

After a 15-year absence, cutting-edge content creation tools such as Virtual Katy helped the "Doctor Who" sci-fi series make its epic return to the small screen with a slick new look and feel.

March 2006 - South Park Sound Editor Bruce Howell Adds Virtual Katy to the Mix Supervising Sound Editor Bruce Howell uses the Virtual Katy software to accelerate the sound post process for their Emmy award winning South Park show. The widely popular animated series drives one of the most demanding postproduction schedules. Each show topic is developed, animated, cut and aired within a week. " We work everyday for 8 weeks straight - delivering a show every week . VK took what was once a 20 hour per week per show job of conforming sessions and turned it into a 20 minute per week per show job. It gave us 20 more hours of sound design, music, mixing etc.... It gave us the ability to raise the quality of the show!" comments Howell.
March 2006 - Virtual Katy Launches VK Conformer Designed for the sole purpose of conforming and non-destructively recompiling Pro Tools sessions, VK Conformer is cut from the original award winning Virtual Katy software which was put to the test on Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. VK Conformer will make its debut at the NAB 2006 exhibition held in Las Vegas NV from April 24 through April 27 on the Avid Partner Pavilion, booth SL1513.

November 2005 - Virtual Katy Scores Big with SoundPost SoundPost Ltd, one of New Zealand 's largest sound post facilities, has implemented the VK workflow into their audio post process. VK automatically finds and compares the differences between two or more versions of a picture edit, then non-destructively re-compiles SoundPost's Pro Tools® session to reflect the changes. The re-versioned session is created in a fraction of the time it would take the SoundPost team to conform the changes manually.
